New GrandMA Plugin for Vectorworks Spotlight

Find out more at the ABTT Show

Today, June 11th 2014, sees the start of the Association of British Theatre Technicians show at the Old Truman Brewery in London. Adrian and our latest recruit Helen are there, showing off Vectorworks Spotlight. Come along and see them and find out why Vectorworks Spotlight is number one for entertainment and lighting design.

Lighting designers will be particularly interested to find out more about the new Vectorworks plug-in from Grand MA. it's a new free tool that installs directly into the Vectorworks Spotlight workspace.

GrandMA_Export_Large_Thumb.jpgThe MA Vectorworks Export Plugin enables lighting designers to export the information from their Vectorworks Spotlight lighting devices into a file format which a grandMA2 (onPC or actual console) can import into the show. If you're making the most of Vectorworks Spotlight and using all of its 2D/3D hybrid features, and you use GrandMA 3D you won't have to manually enter the 3D position and rotation information into the grandMA2 patch list. A huge time saver.

Once you've created your light plot in Vectorworks Spotlight, the new export option enables you to map the data within the lighting devices onto the data required by GrandMA and smooths the process. You can download the plugin and find out more by visiting the MA Lighting website.
